Job summary

FM Industries is seeking a Mechanical Inspector 2 for swing shift in Livermore, CA. The role focuses on precision inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to ensure specification conformance. The swing shift runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m.

to 10:30 p.m., with overtime potential. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing FAI data collection, and contributing to FIRs. A minimum of five years' inspection experience and GD&T proficiency are required, along with CMM

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing in-process and final inspection, preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T.
• CMM operation required.
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collect and provide data required for Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)
• Perform precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify specification compliance

Salary Range: $28.00 To $34.00 Hourly

THIS POSITION IS FOR SWING SHIFT – Monday thru Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with potential for overtime.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsibleperforming precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification.

• Basic blueprint reading & shop math (Trigonometry)
• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)

Qualifications:
