Job summary

You may work off-shift or weekends when needed. Requires 2-5 years in inspection, thorough GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with height gauges, micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, thread gauges, and CMM alignment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including height gauges, micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards.
• Visual cosmetic inspection experience required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with fellow employees and customers in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Basic blueprint reading & shop math (Trigonometry)
• Inspect first piece parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect and provide data required for Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)
• Complete customer required part to print data forms and send with parts
• Perform in-process inspection of parts being run in Manufacturing
• Inspect in-house and outsourced production parts
• Review routers to ensure upstream operations completed and signed off
• Complete Discrepant Material Report (DMR) forms for rejected parts
• Inspect incoming purchased parts for compliance to specifications
• Inspect outgoing material for packaging and conformance
• Perform surface plate and comparator setups
• Fill out and file required reports, logs, databases, forms, and documents
• Report safety or process control concerns to Inspection Team Leader or Plant Quality Manager
• Comply with environmental, health and safety laws and company policy
• Basic CMM alignment & manual CMM measurements
• Perform additional related duties as assigned
