Job summary

Vertiv Corporation in Anderson, SC seeks a skilled Mechanical Fitter (2nd shift) to assemble mechanical enclosures and subassemblies for low and medium-voltage switchgear products based on engineering drawings. You will work with hand and power tools to ensure precise fits and high-quality finishes.

You will read blueprints, use measuring instruments, and follow safety guidelines while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints or layout diagrams.
• Commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal enclosures, frames, and subassemblies for switchgear systems following blueprints and work instructions.
• Install mechanical hardware such as doors, hinges, panels, gaskets, and brackets.
• Use calipers, rulers and squares to verify fit and alignment of parts.
• Drill holes, tap threads, and modify metal components as needed for custom builds.
• Inspect assemblies for accuracy and report defects to meet quality standards.
• Complete production checklists and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
