Job summary

Automatic Handling International, Inc. in Erie, PA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to assemble, fit and install mechanical components for custom-designed equipment. You will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and ensure assemblies meet exact specifications.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years of assembly experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift 50 lbs in a busy shop enviroment with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or vocational school preferred.
• 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, or welding is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit mechanical parts, subassemblies, and complete systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect parts and assemblies for proper fit and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Support testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment as needed.
