Job summary

Powell Industries is seeking an Assembler II to assemble mechanical components for switchgear and breaker units according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. You will use master copies, spec sheets, and WO files, inspect parts during production, and assist in root-cause analysis for engineering changes.

The role requires reading drawings, using hand and power tools, and adhering to ISO requirements.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy in assembling mechanical components.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools.
• Able to read a tape measure and convert between fractions, decimals, and metric units.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components for switchgear and/or breaker units per drawings and specs.
• Maintain and properly use tools.
• Perform in-process inspections and ensure quality per work instructions.
• Complete ship-prep functions including gear splitting.
• Assist root cause analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies.
• Lead a small team under supervision to complete tasks.
• Perform mechanical adjustments for switchgear.
• Promote safety and keep work areas clean and organized.
