Halperns’ Steak & Seafood is hiring for a Packer in Kalamazoo, MI. The role focuses on accurately packing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood to meet customer specifications, while following all safety and quality guidelines.

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to work independently or in a team.
• Follows food safety and occupational safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Packs beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products accurately and on time.
• Follows standard pack specifications and customer deviations from work orders/cut tickets.
• Reads and comprehends all customer-specific special instructions.
• Performs quality control checks and communicates defects to supervisors.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Distributes products to appropriate pack lines and weighs/tags containers.
