Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood is seeking a detail‑oriented Meat Packer in Orlando, FL to pack beef, pork, lamb, veal and seafood to exact specifications. The role requires reading and following customer instructions, weighing products, and distributing to pack lines while upholding food safety standards.

You will perform quality checks, identify defects, read special instructions, and help reduce costs through efficient packing.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Solves routine problems following established policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge of production equipment.
• Understand and follow Food Safety and Occupational Safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Pack products accurately and on time according to specs.
• Follow customer specifications as communicated via work orders or cut tickets.
• Read and understand all customer special instructions.
• Perform quality control checks and report defects.
• Inspect meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes.
• Obtain and distribute products to appropriate pack lines.
• Weigh meats and tag containers with weight and contents.
• Contribute to reducing processing costs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Responsible for packing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products accurately and tastefully while also meeting customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Packs products in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
• Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
• Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and managers any defects.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Obtains and distributes products to appropriate pack lines.
• Weighs meats and tags containers with weight and contents.
• Effectively completes tasks to reduce processing costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
• Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
• Must be able to understand and follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines.
