Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare high quality meat cuts according to customer specifications, operating knives and band saws in a refrigerated setting. You will read cut tickets, label portions, and maintain sanitary conditions while meeting yield and time benchmarks.

Minimum 1 year of meat cutting experience, high school diploma or GED preferred. Band saws and laser portion machinery experience are a plus, with knowledge of USDA grades appreciated.

Qualifications

• Skilled as a specialty meat cutter using knives required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a meat cutter.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to read and understand customers’ specifications and do basic math functions.

Responsibilities

• Trim and customize portions of meat products using knives, band saws or other meat production equipment.
• Count and stack portions per customer and company specifications.
• Label portions with supplied product labels.
• Read and understand cut tickets.
• Set up the cutting room as required.
• Keep cutting rooms and surrounding area clean and sanitized.
• Work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F-45°F.
• Finish time is when work is completed and overtime may be required.
