Job summary

Stock Yards is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter for 1st shift to prepare high-quality meat cuts per customer specifications. You will work in a fully refrigerated environment, set up the cutting room, and ensure accurate portioning and labeling.

The role requires at least 1 year of meat-cutting experience, ability to read cut tickets, and strong math abilities. Overtime may be needed, with benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Proficient meat cutting using knives.
• Able to read and interpret cut tickets.
• Strong math skills for portion sizing and labeling.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Trim and customize portions of meat products per customer specs.
• Count and stack portions on trays.
• Label portions with product labels.
• Read and understand cut tickets and scale portions accordingly.
• Set up the cutting room as required.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in cutting areas per GMP.
• Work in a refrigerated environment (35°F–45°F).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Overtime may be required without notice.
