Construction Material Testing is seeking a Laboratory Technician to turn field samples into precise numerical data under a documented AASHTO R18 quality system. You will perform standard ASTM tests, log samples with chain-of-custody, and break cylinders, ensuring timely, accurate results for contractors and projects.

Training is provided; prefer careful, precise workers with a mechanical aptitude. Pay ranges from $25–$35 per hour with overtime during peak seasons, in a facility-based role

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with repetitive precise work.
• Willingness to train and learn lab processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing (D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, C39).
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results the same day.
• Support proficiency programs and accreditation assessments.
