Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a laboratory technician to convert field samples into numerical data used for Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, and moisture contents. You will operate in an AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and strict accountability for every result.

Your week includes performing standard tests, maintaining calibration, logging samples, and reporting strength results the same day.

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus; training provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
