Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Laboratory Technician to turn field samples into the numbers used for Proctor curves, sieve analyses, and Atterberg limits. You will operate within a documented AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and full accountability for every result released from the lab.

Your week includes performing ASTM tests, maintaining calibration and records, logging samples, breaking cylinders and reporting results the same day.

Qualifications

• Careful hands, clean documentation habits, mechanical aptitude.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, not required — we train
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments
