Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a laboratory technician to turn field samples into numbers for projects, using Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture, and strength testing.

You will operate within a documented AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and accountability for every result leaving the lab. Training is provided; prior lab experience is a plus though not required.

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits are essential.
• Mechanical aptitude and steady precision are required.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus, but not required — training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency programs and accreditation assessments.
