Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Hardware Engineering Technician to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and qualify complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. You will support prototypes through production releases, collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing/engineering, preferably capital equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and optical subsystems.
• Comfort with reading schematics and assembly drawings.
• Experience documenting test results and changes for manufacturing.
• Hands-on technician capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and using heavy equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, optical, and pneumatic systems.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair subsystems from third party suppliers.
• Perform system integration testing and qualification.
• Lead manufacturing introductions from prototype to production release.
• Create and update assembly, testing, and calibration docs.
• Provide feedback to engineering for design/doc improvements.
• Support continuous improvement and cross-functional projects.
• Collaborate on department initiatives as required.
