Job description

Part-time position, up to 25 hours per week, starting hourly range $31.44-$37.00, 10 months during academic year.

SCOPE OF WORK

Assists the Department Chair with program and administrative oversight and coordination of the Precision Manufacturing Program, including overseeing adjunct faculty and curricula. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering and Precision Manufacturing Department Chair at Nashua Community College.

Accountabilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate curricula in the Precision Manufacturing Program; maintain program/course documents and revise documents in a timely manner.
  • Serve as academic advisor to students to promote retention.
  • Select, monitor, and evaluate intern/practicum sites.
  • Assist the admissions office with program promotion and student recruitment through activities such as college open houses, career days, and high school fairs.
  • Write reports such as annual reports, self-study, program, and college accreditation reports.
  • Assist Department Chair with faculty recruitment, orientation, and assignment of teaching accountabilities.
  • Serve on campus or system committees/teams.
  • Comply with all college, system, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university with major study in Industrial Technology, Precision Manufacturing or related field.

Experience

Five years of professional experience in Precision Manufacturing, machining, and Machine Shop Management.

OR

Education (Alternative)

Master’s Degree from a recognized college or university with major study in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

Experience (Alternative)

Three years of professional or paraprofessional teaching experience in higher education, or three years of experience in Precision Manufacturing, machining, and Machine Shop Management, or related area.

License/Certification

Valid driver’s license or access to transportation.

Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used for instruction.
