NCC Adjunct Faculty- Precision Manufacturing

Nashua Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required. Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period, and may require in classroom or online instruction as indicated.

We have a need for instructors for the following course(s) in our Precision Manufacturing Department for the Spring 2026 semester :

MTTN118 -Machining Technology

This course is designed to teach the student the basic operation of the engine lathe and the manual vertical milling machine and the processes associated with them. The course will include the study of lab safety, measuring tools, as well as the fundamentals of reading and interpreting a blueprint to produce a close tolerance part.

This course runs Monday (lecture) 1pm-2:50pm and Fri (lab) 1pm-3:50pm.

MTTN122N -Machine Tool Processes and Theory II

This course is a continuation of MTTN111N with an emphasis on advanced lathe and mill operations on more complex parts and assemblies. Conversational programming on CNC machines is introduced on both lathe and mill. Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is taught as part of expanding the understanding and interpretation of modern blueprints. Projects will include assemblies of milled and turned parts as well as heat treated and surface ground parts. Instruction will be given in proper wheel selection and grinding techniques. Students will complete several individual projects that utilize all these machining methods. Mechanical concepts such as gears, simple machines, and machine components will be discussed. A student must earn a grade of 'C' or better to achieve a passing grade in this course.

This course runs Monday and Weds. evenings from 5:30pm -10:30pm.

MTTN123-Principles of CNC

Topics studied in this course include a full description of programming, machine terminology, operations, and equipment used in CNC (numerical computer control). Students will be taught manual programming techniques using standard G and M codes for basic vertical CNC milling applications. The setup and machining of simple projects on the Acu-Rite, Prototrak, and Haas machines will offer students real world machining experience.

This course runs on Tuesday evenings this summer from 5:30pm -9:00pm.

Minimum qualifications

Candidate will have an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or fifteen years’ experience in machine tool technology. Must have knowledge of MasterCam. Must be able to work two evenings per week.

The salary range for this position is $825-$975 per contact hour. The rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.

CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.
