Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop, implement, and continuously improve processes for high-precision components from review through production. You will define complete routings, determine sequences, and ensure traceability while collaborating with CNC Programming, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.

The role supports high-mix, precision manufacturing including CNC turning/milling, grinding, lapping, welding, cleaning, and outside processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of manufacturing/process engineering in precision machining or high-mix environments.
• Experience developing routings, process plans, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, setup practices, and CAM/CAD knowledge.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Experience supporting first article, inspection planning, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain routings for new and existing products, including operation sequence, work centers, setup/run standards, tooling, fixturing, materials, and outside processing.
• Translate manufacturing-process requirements into executable machining strategies in partnership with CNC Programming.
• Support tooling, fixture, work holding, probing, and setup-method development.
• Participate in process kickoff reviews and first article/prove-out activities for new or high-risk jobs.
• Capture setup and cycle times and update manufacturing standards; support standardization across part families.
