Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years machine shop experience required, preferably in an engineering environment using the majority of the listed equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, sketches, work orders or written instructions.
• Able to read blueprints for finish specifications and critical dimensions.
• Ability to read calipers, micrometer, optical comparator, height gauges and other inspection tools as needed.
• Use of trade mathematics; detail oriented and efficient; able to multi-task.
• Welding experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machinery including milling machines, lathes, drill press, gun drill, surface grinder and hand tools.
• Rework parts per print with written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain production by completing scheduled work on time.
• Inspect components and assemblies to ensure form, fit, function and dimensional criteria.
• Complete documentation including routings and inspection reports.
• Document time entry into the computer and keep shop floor packets current.
• Maintain inventory of material and hardware.
• Assist maintenance with repair of machine parts.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop fixtures and tooling.
• Support other production areas as needed.
