Job summary

Thread-Craft is seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Operator to join our precision machining team. You will operate manual/semi-automatic lathes to produce precision components from engineering drawings and specifications, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, setting up tooling, performing first-piece inspections, and using ERP systems to record labor data. We value initiative, detail-orientation, and teamwork in a hands-on manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years skilled trades training or ~2 years hands-on machining experience.
• Experience operating manual machining equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes and engine lathes to produce precision components.
• Set up machines with tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specs.
• Measure parts with calipers and micrometers; perform INSPECT tests.
• Record labor and job transactions in ERP software.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Cross-train on additional machining tasks as needed.
