Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting is seeking an experienced Machinist (Lathe Operator) to set up and operate lathe machines to produce precision parts to exact specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of blueprints, tooling, and quality standards, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work.

The role requires reading blueprints, selecting tooling and speeds, measuring parts with precision instruments, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years experience operating a lathe in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry, applicable to machining.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a team environment.

Aufgaben

• Set up, operate, and adjust lathe machines to cut, shape, and finish metal or other materials according to blueprints and work orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and materials for each job.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
• Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with quality control and other production staff to resolve discrepancies.
