Job summary

Westerman, Inc. in Hebron, OH is seeking an experienced Machinist to ensure safety, quality, and productivity in the manufacturing of production and storage equipment. You will process customer orders on time and manage material flow, tagging finished parts and moving them through designated stages.

The role requires reading blueprints, routine machine setup, and adherence to safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect parts are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ work experience in a related craft preferred.
• Basic writing and math skills required.
• Ability to read all measuring devices and blueprints required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence required.
• Ability to perform all required quality checks and surface inspection of material required.
• Fully understands safety training and procedures manuals required.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, material requirements, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Plans details of working procedure.
• Stages material in work area.
• Performs routine maintenance and machine set-up if necessary.
• Operates machine to perform necessary job on parts according to instructions and to blueprint specifications.
• Performs first piece inspection using methods to assure all dimensions are correct and within tolerances.
• Makes fine adjustments to machine to bring part within tolerances.
• Operates machine to run successive pieces or to perform multiple operations.
• Performs periodic part inspection per job instructions.
• Places finished material on a pallet or in a container with the work order number and part number on the top piece.
• Marks pallet with appropriate tag.
• Completes appropriate paperwork.
• Moves material to next destination and stages as required.
• Other duties as required and assigned.
