Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC grinders, lathes, and milling machines in a high-precision environment in Worcester, MA. The role requires interpreting blueprints and program readouts to ensure tight tolerances and efficient production.

As a key contributor in our 5S and LEAN-driven operations, you will handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision, cooperate with cross-functional teams, and maintain safe, organized work areas while supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with minimum 2 years precision machining experience, trade school or apprenticeship.
• Ability to read blueprints, read program readouts, and technical directives to select materials and tools.
• Familiar with LEAN / WCM practices and data collection for daily output goals.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinders, lathes, and machining centers to produce finished and semi-finished products.
• Support World Class Manufacturing through autonomous teams and 5S practices.
• Read and interpret blueprints and directives to select tools and ensure tolerances, typically within ±0.0005 inches.
