Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Production Machinist II to set up and operate machine tools, including CNC equipment, to produce wheels and parts to precise specifications. The role requires reading blueprints and technical directives, adjusting speeds/feeds, and maintaining tolerances while supporting World Class Manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years machining experience and/or training preferred.
• Knowledge of basic trade mathematics, computer skills, and ability to read blueprints and understanding of machinist handbook.
• Technical school training, apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience operating CNC machines and other metal fabricating machines may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to fit/assemble parts per job specifications.
• Read blueprints, program readouts, and technical directives to select materials/tools and gauge finished parts.
• Maintain a 5S environment and adhere to LEAN/WCM practices; meet daily output goals.
• Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Follow machine shop safety practices and determine appropriate setup/operation parameters.
