Job summary

Nova Biomedical is seeking a Machinist to support Machine Shop operations in Waltham, MA. The role involves operating and setting up manual and automated shop equipment, including milling machines, lathes, and CNC machines, to produce high-quality parts and perform inspections.

The position requires 5–10 years of machine shop experience, ability to read drawings and follow instructions, and proficiency with measuring tools.

Qualifications

High School or Technical School diploma required.
5–10 years of machine shop experience required.
Ability to read and write English and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Proficiency with shop measuring tools.
Ability to read and understand part drawings.
Experience setting up and operating manual milling machines, lathes, handscrew machines, CNC millers, and CNC lathes.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, and handscrew machines.
Set up and maintain CNC millers and lathes, including tool offsets and editing CNC programs.
Ensure part quality through dimensional inspections and adherence to specs.
Meet production time standards and maintain shop efficiency.
Use shop measuring tools accurately and read part drawings.
