Job summary

Medeco Security Locks, part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, is seeking a Machinist OEM in Salem, VA. The role focuses on setting up and operating a wide range of machines, including CNCs, to ensure precise parts and timely production.

The machinist will read blueprints, verify tolerances, and troubleshoot issues to keep processes efficient and safe. Requirements include 3-5 years of machine setting experience, strong precision, and basic familiarity with Fanuc G & M codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years machine setting experience preferred.
• Fanuc G & M codes familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, cutters, borers, mills, grinders, presses and CNC machines.
• Position and align tools, feeds, speeds and angles to meet tolerances.
• Inspect first-run parts and monitor cycles for quality.
• Troubleshoot setup issues quickly and accurately.
• Train and assist teammates; participate in continuous improvement.
