Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Salem, OR, is seeking a CNC Operator to support a precision metal fabrication shop. You will set up and operate CNC machines across mills, lathes, or lasers, load materials, and interpret CAD files to ensure quality output.

The role requires 1+ year CNC experience, blueprint/CAD reading, and proficiency with G/M codes and precision tools. Workweek is Monday–Friday with first shift hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of CNC operation experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and CAD/model files.
• Familiarity with G/M codes and precision measuring tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or lasers).
• Load raw materials, execute machine cycles, and monitor outputs.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
• Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar tools.
• Make tool adjustments, handle tool offsets, and perform proof runs.
• Report machine errors and maintain accurate production logs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
