Tramec Sloan is seeking a Machining Technician to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain precision machining equipment, including Hydromat rotary transfer and multi-spindle machines. This role supports the production of high-quality components by ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Candidates with previous machining experience or a strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in machining, maintenance, or machine shop operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Capable of working independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision machining equipment safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
• Set up machines according to drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Load materials, monitor performance, and verify quality throughout production.
• Perform tool changes, adjustments, and machine offsets as needed.
• Inspect finished parts with precision tools and maintain records.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment repairs as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
