Job summary

Tramec Sloan is seeking a Machining Technician to setup, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize Hydromat rotary transfer and multi-spindle machines. You will help produce high-quality components by keeping equipment safe, efficient, and reliable.

Candidates with machining experience or strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. Paid, hands-on training is available to develop technical skills and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Previous machining or related experience or willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Basic shop math and analytical skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision machining equipment safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines according to drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Load materials, monitor machine performance, and verify production quality throughout the process.
• Perform machine changeovers, tooling adjustments, tool replacement, and offsets as required.
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring equipment and gauges.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with repairs and replacements.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, tooling, and maintenance records.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity and machine performance.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and support training.
