Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Indiana is seeking a Converter Machining Machinist to operate manual lathes, read specifications, and select suitable machining or polishing processes to meet exact specs.

You will set up equipment, monitor speed and heat, perform basic maintenance, and work a Mon–Fri 6:30am–3:00pm schedule with overtime opportunities. Benefits include medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and on-site fitness facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (8–10 hours).
• Ability to use handheld tools such as drills, impacts, hammers, calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes and basic hand tools to meet specifications.
• Check specifications/readouts and decide machining or polishing processes.
• Set controls, monitor speed/heat, and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Ensure quality and safety throughout the machining process.
