Job summary

JASPER is seeking a qualified machinist to operate manual lathes and use basic hand tools. You will read specifications, determine machining steps, and set up equipment to meet precise tolerances. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and maintaining machine condition throughout shifts.

The position runs Monday–Friday 6:30am–3:00pm with overtime, starting at $20.00 per hour, plus benefits and ongoing wage progression within the first years.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• Stand or walk an entire shift (8-10 hours).
• Ability to use handheld tools such as drills, impacts, hammers, calipers, and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes and perform basic machining tasks.
• Read specifications and determine machining/polishing processes.
• Set controls, monitor speed/heat, and ensure parts meet specs.
