Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Winchester, VA is seeking a plant operator to run machinery, follow safety policies, and produce high-quality precast concrete products.

You will read specifications, adjust machines, perform routine maintenance, and support other operators to meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required; a flexible schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 month related experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and operation instructions.
• Ability to work independently and read diagrams.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with a Besser machine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Review product for consistency and quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Support other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
• Other duties as needed.
