Job summary

Fresno Valves & Castings, Inc. in Selma, CA is seeking a Machine Operator (Machine Shop) to set up and run a range of machine tools. The role operates 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and pays $18.50 per hour, with bi-weekly payroll.

You will read blueprints, measure parts with calipers and tape, and maintain logs while supporting the production team. Candidates should have a High School diploma and 1–2 years' operator experience, with attention to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of machine operator experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Must be able to perform accurate measurements with measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Reads and studies blueprints, work orders and plans for product specification.
• Sets up and operates machine tools and selects, positions and secures tools.
• Sets feeds, speeds and depth of cuts; controls coolant direction.
• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Performs daily machine maintenance and housekeeping.
