Job summary

Oldcastle, a CRH company, in Florida is seeking a Plant Operator to run plant machinery, follow safety policies, and help ensure a high-quality product.

You will read specifications, adjust machines, perform routine maintenance, and support team members to meet deadlines while keeping the work area clean and compliant with procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic math skills are required, with familiarity with Word and Excel helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 month related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and fractions/decimals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
• Keep the assigned area clean and orderly.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures; other duties as assigned.
