Job summary

QPS is seeking a Machine Operator to support our automotive production line in Commerce City, CO. The role covers the full layup-through-trimming production cell, from staging and setup to operation, shutdown, and housekeeping.

You will maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, perform minor repairs, monitor safety, and log hourly quality and production data while ensuring a clean, efficient area and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related manufacturing experience.
• Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, or resin systems preferred.
• Familiarity with layup, consolidator, trim and press equipment.
• Ability to read weights, measurements and perform basic math.
• Mechanical aptitude and hand tool knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Run and oversee the full layup-through-trimming production cell—from staging and setup to operation, shutdown, and housekeeping.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; perform minor repairs.
• Monitor safety and inspect equipment for defects.
• Train on production equipment in a safe, productive manner.
• Operate your assigned machine and serve as a backup across various operator positions.
• Record hourly quality and production data; log downtime and its cause.
• Inspect finished products and report defects to the right people.
• Keep the production area clean and organized.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
