Alto Precision, Inc. designs and builds precision tooling, fixtures, automation, and custom machine solutions for a hands-on, collaborative environment in Grand Rapids, MI. The Builder role covers fabrication, assembly, run-off, and on-site installation with cross-functional teamwork to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.

Travel to customer sites may be required. The position requires a Journeyman card or 5+ years of trade experience, plus working knowledge of SolidWorks and ERP tools;

Formación

• Journeyman card or 5+ years of related trade experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering designs and prints for equipment, including SolidWorks for reviewing models.
• Ability to fabricate and machine details for equipment utilizing appropriate materials and machine tools, as well as welding equipment and other hand tools as required.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic components.
• Ability to communicate well with others both verbally and in writing (team members, customers, suppliers).
• Ability to utilize Epicor ERP, Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams to communicate effectively and manage track jobs.
• Efficient time management - must be self-driven.

Responsabilidades

• Review engineering designs, prints, tolerances, and specs to build and assemble equipment accurately.
• Assist Job Lead in requisition of needed materials based on BOM and prints, including providing the list to CNC and tracking delivery and inventory.
• Assist Apprentices in completing responsibilities and train them as needed in coordination with Job Leads.
• Act as back-up to Job Lead, communicating with customers, suppliers, and project team members.
• Work with Electricians and outside contracted help to complete wiring and controls assembly.
• Accurately record hours on each job in Epicor and report to Job Lead to stay within budget.
• Support installation and testing on-site and troubleshoot issues, may travel to customer locations.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and stock of inventory per Alto policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement and best practices training to reduce costs.
