Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Laser Operator for 1st and 2nd shifts to operate Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 lasers and de-nest cut parts. You will load materials, verify thickness, and ensure quality within time standards.

The role requires a solid laser/CNC background, blueprint reading, and basic math. You may train others and participate in preventive maintenance while maintaining safety standards and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Laser or CNC operating background.
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring and learning precision tools.
• Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
• Ability to understand/apply knowledge of “G” and “M” codes and computer skills.
• Blueprint reading capability and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Forklift operation ability.
• Teamwork and coordination with other departments.
• High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operations on Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 Lasers.
• Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into laser stocker.
• De-nest and remove laser oxide from parts.
• Perform work to time standards and quality expectations.
• May train others on laser setup and operation.
• Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
• Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
• Cross train across multiple laser platforms and cells.
• Report and document material, production and quality issues.
• Maintain safety standards and participate in preventative maintenance.
