Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT, is seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector for 2nd shift. You will inspect incoming materials, verify with drawings, and ensure conformance before release to production. The position is hourly with a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM shift. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in precision manufacturing, with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in quality inspection or precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with dimensional measurement and basic inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document results.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming and in-process inspections of mechanical, optical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and sampling plans.
• Use conventional measurement equipment, CMMs, and vision systems to verify product requirements.
• Review supplier certifications, certificates of conformance (CoCs), test reports, and other quality documentation.
• Record inspection results and determine product acceptance against established specifications and quality requirements.
