Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Middlefield, CT, is seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector for 2nd shift. You will inspect incoming materials, verify with drawings, and ensure conformance before release to production. The role entails reading specs, using CMMs and vision systems, and collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams.

The position is hourly with a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM shift. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in precision manufacturing, with strong attention to detail.

• Use conventional measurement equipment, CMMs, and vision systems to verify product requirements.
• Review supplier certifications, certificates of conformance (CoCs), test reports, and other quality documentation.
• Record inspection results and determine product acceptance against established specifications and quality requirements.

As an Incoming Quality Inspector, 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) based in Middlefield, CT, you will inspect and verify incoming materials, components, assemblies, and outsourced processes before they are released to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming and in-process inspections of mechanical, optical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and sampling plans.
• Use conventional measurement equipment, CMMs, and vision systems to verify product requirements.
• Review supplier certifications, certificates of conformance (CoCs), test reports, and other quality documentation.
• Record inspection results and determine product acceptance against established specifications and quality requirements.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Experience with dimensional measurement and basic inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document inspection results.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

Preferred experience includes GD&T, CMMs, Zeiss Calypso or PC-DMIS, AS9100/AS9102 or ISO 9001, and experience in optics, aerospace, medical devices, precision machining, or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
