Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking an Inspection Tech II to join our team to identify statistical methods that improve manufacturing quality and to provide data for establishing quality standards through testing methods and sampling.

You will conduct precise dimensional inspections using hand gauges, perform visual inspections, and apply GD&T to verify blueprints. The role includes AS9102 FAI, in-process inspections, and supplier material checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related vocational/technical education.
• At least 1 year interpreting detailed mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• At least 1 year of experience applying shop math in manufacturing/inspection.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise dimensional inspections using hand gauges, including calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
• Perform visual inspections in accordance with established workmanship standards.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming materials and document them within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Apply knowledge of GD&T to interpret and verify blueprint requirements.
• Execute AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) with thoroughness and accuracy.
• Perform in-process inspections and product audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Inspect incoming materials for compliance with specifications and requirements.
• Conduct outgoing product inspections by interpreting blueprints, procedures, data, and specifications to ensure quality.
• Review and verify paperwork and certifications for accuracy and completeness.
