Job summary

Geater Machining & Manufacturing in Independence, IA, is seeking a Manufacturing Inspector to join our high-performance team. You will inspect products to blueprints and specifications, perform hand checks with precision tools, and operate CMM inspection machines.

You will complete inspection reports, review control plans, and communicate non-conformities with operators and engineers. We offer competitive pay, shift premiums, bonuses, PTO, 401(k) matching, profit sharing, and on-demand pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year of experience in a machining/sheet metal shop environment within the aerospace industry preferred.
• Knowledge of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauge) preferred.
• Blueprint reading, Basic GD&T understanding, and CMM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products to blue prints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Perform hand checks of products with a variety of measurement devices.
• Set up and run CMM inspection machines and programs.
• Complete inspection reports and review process control plans.
• Follow up on non-conforming product with Manufacturing Operators and Engineers.
• Communicate with inspection staff to determine and review product conformity.
