Baumer Foods, Inc. invites applications for an Inside Machinist / Maintenance Technician in Reserve, LA.

The role focuses on producing precision parts for filling, capping, labeling, and packaging machinery, while performing preventive and corrective maintenance in a GMP-compliant food manufacturing environment. Daily duties include setting up and operating manual machines, inspecting parts, and repairing equipment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining tech certificate preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a Machinist or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Must be able to cut threads, taps, keyways, and use a 4-jaw chuck.
• Must be able to produce parts without a print and sharpen tooling.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills (CMMS, email).

Mansioni

• Set up and operate manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders) to produce replacement parts.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify accuracy.
• Fabricate or modify parts for production line equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to diagnose equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate records of parts produced and materials used.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
• Install, align, and replace bearings, gearboxes, belts, and seals.
• Perform line changeovers, adjustments, and startups to support production.
• Maintain plant systems including air compressors, boilers/steam, HVAC, plumbing.
• Document work orders in CMMS and track spare parts inventory.
• Follow GMPs and food safety practices.
