Qualifications

Grinding faces and diameters to tight tolerances (between .0005" and .00005").
Load work pieces into grinding machines and perform operations.
Finish surfaces with grinding wheels and hand tools.
Inspect and measure workpieces for dimensional conformance.
Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed.
Refer to blueprints to plan setups and procedures.
Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines.
Demonstrate basic math to solve shop-floor problems.

Responsibilities

Grinding faces and diameters holding tolerances of between .0005"-.00005". Inspect faces and diameters using micrometers and gauges.
Load work pieces into grinding machines, perform grinding operations and finish surfaces.
Inspect/measure to ensure conformance to specifications.
Study blueprints to plan grinding procedures and setups.
Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments or stop as needed.
