Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. in Newton, IA is seeking a Heavy Assembler to assemble mechanical units, subassemblies, and completed products using hand tools, power tools, jigs and fixtures, and other equipment.

The role requires reading complex instructions and applying precise torque to meet specifications. You will fit, align, calibrate, and adjust components, operate in a plant environment, and participate in safety practices.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools and hardware (bolts & nuts).
• Electrical wiring experience and ability to match sub-assemblies to final product.
• Torque certification required by Arcosa.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Bending, twisting and working in various positions during shift.

Responsibilities

• Insert and/or attach sub-assemblies with appropriate hardware.
• Attach complex sub-assemblies and/or parts with appropriate hardware.
• Apply appropriate torque sequence and values.
• Read and follow complex instructions.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Maintain attendance within acceptable standards.
