Momentara is seeking a Finishing Operator in Katy, TX to safely operate guillotine cutters and trim printed sheets to exact sizes. You will read job tickets, set up equipment, and ensure quality with precise cuts on various substrates.

Requirements include 2+ years of experience with commercial guillotine cutters, knowledge of Polar or similar systems, and strong math and attention to detail. This is a full-time role on a manufacturing floor with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years operating commercial guillotine cutters.
• Experience withPolar/Wohlenberg or similar cutters is preferred.
• Strong math skills and ability to read dockets and cut lists.
• Mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and adjustments.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain guillotine cutters per job specifications.
• Read job tickets and cutting instructions to ensure accuracy.
• Program cutter settings using digital controls for precise cuts.
• Check first cuts for accuracy using calipers and rulers; adjust as needed.
• Cut materials including coated/uncoated paper and specialty substrates.
• Jog, stack, and remove waste to support downstream processes.
• Follow safety protocols for cutter operation and blade handling.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment upkeep and minor repairs.
• Work with pressroom, bindery, and grand-format teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintain production records and log sheets.
