Job summary

ALIGN PRECISION is seeking a Grinding Specialist/Lead Tooling Specialist to build fixtures and machine prototype parts for CNC operations. You will verify dimensions with precision gauges, select wheels and speeds, and ensure accuracy of your own work while adhering to safety rules.

Proficiency in blueprint reading and mil-spec knowledge is required, with ability to use micrometers, comparators, and dial indicators. OSHA PPE requirements apply on site.

Qualifications

• Basic blueprint reading and mil spec knowledge.
• Ability to use inspection gauges to verify work.
• Must comply with PPE and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Position and secure workpiece on magnetic chuck or fixture.
• Select grinding wheel, speeds, and feed rates for operations.
• Dress wheel to profile and inspect dimensions with gauges.
• Move device to dress wheel and control feed of workpiece.
• Operate coolant flow and verify conformance to specs.
• May grind nonmetallic materials and duplicate contours from templates.
