Petrosmith-Equipment in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced equipment operator focused on grinding, polishing, and finishing welded parts to satisfy customer prints.

The role requires maintaining a clean work area, following safety rules, and moving inventory to the pipe department while assisting welders and supporting process improvements. At least 2 years of related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of equipment experience, Grinding
• Understanding of fabrication fundamentals, and application to structural pieces
• Experience with hand tools and welding equipment

Responsibilities

• Grind, polish, sand and sharpen welded parts to ensure conformance to customer prints
• Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety work rules.
• Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
• Performs precision smoothing, sharpening, polishing, or grinding on a variety of welded assemblies
• Responsible for the movement of necessary inventory and parts to and from the pipe department.
• Assist Welders; Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
• Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.
