Petrosmith-Equipment in Abilene, TX is seeking a skilled fabrication associate to Grind, polish, sand and sharpen welded parts to meet customers' prints. You'll work with a range of hand tools and welding equipment to ensure precision.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, move inventory to and from the pipe department, and assist welders while supporting continuous process improvements. Prior fabrication experience is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding certification preferred.
• 2 years equipment experience in grinding and welding.
• Understanding of fabrication fundamentals and structural pieces.

Responsibilities

• Grind, polish, sand and sharpen welded parts to ensure conformance to established customer needs and prints
• Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety work rules.
• Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
• Performs precision smoothing, sharpening, polishing, or grinding on a variety of welded assemblies
• Responsible for movement of inventory and parts to and from the pipe department
• Assist Welders; Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
• Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.
