Job summary

InPower in Houston, TX is seeking a dependable Grinder / Metal Finishing Operator for our sheet-metal fabrication team. You will grind, deburr, blend and finish welded and fabricated metal parts to meet quality and appearance standards.

The ideal candidate has experience with hand grinders and other power tools, can read shop drawings, and takes pride in producing clean, high‑quality finished parts while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in metal grinding, finishing, welding, or fabrication required.
• Experience working with sheet metal is required.
• Ability to safely operate hand grinders and power tools.
• Ability to read basic shop drawings and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn new processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Grind and finish welded and fabricated metal components.
• Remove weld spatter, sharp edges, burrs, and excess material.
• Blend welds and smooth metal surfaces according to specifications.
• Use angle grinders, die grinders, sanders, and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, imperfections, and proper appearance.
• Read and follow drawings, work instructions, and job specifications.
• Maintain consistent quality and production standards.
• Prepare parts for powder coating, plating, or other finishing processes.
• Properly identify and handle different types and thicknesses of metal.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other fabrication and production duties as assigned
