Colonial Group in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Grinder to start immediately. You will be trained to safely operate a grinder and remove excess metal from manufactured parts to blueprint specifications and shop orders.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts by eye and touch, removing flash, using surface-grinding tools, and maintaining part counts while meeting quality and production travelers. On-the-job training provided; you will join a lean, safety‑conscious team with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment in work area at all time.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• English reading, writing, and verbal comprehension.
• Display a good sense of depth perception, which is critical to discriminating defects and finishing parts during the flash removal and deburring process.
• Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
• Ability to frequently manipulate parts weighing up to 30 lbs. and move more than 30 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment and/or assistance.
• Ability to apply up to 50lbs hand-to-part force as necessary to stabilize part(s) during cutting or machining process.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate a grinder to remove excess metal from parts to blueprint specifications and shop order instructions.
• Inspect parts visually and by touch and remove flash per travelers.
• Use surface-grinding tools to remove defects and maintain accurate part counts.
• Maintain a safe, organized, lean work environment and meet production needs.
• Participate in on-the-job training and perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
