Job summary

Colonial Group in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Grinder to start immediately. You will learn to safely use a grinder to remove excess metal from manufactured parts to blueprint specifications and shop order instructions.

This role includes on-the-job training, strict safety, and the need to maintain accuracy in part counts. You will inspect parts visually and by touch, and use surface-grinding tools to remove defects.

Qualifications

• PPE required at all times in the work area.
• Must work in a drug-free workplace.
• US Citizen or US Person per ITAR regulations.
• English reading, writing and verbal comprehension.
• Good depth perception for defect detection.
• Able to work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and move heavier with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and maintain an organized, lean workspace.
• Be punctual and maintain attendance to meet production needs.
• Inspect parts visually and by touch; remove flash and excess material as instructed.
• Use surface-grinding tools to remove defects and maintain counts.
• Ensure quality and production requirements per travelers.
• On-the-job training provided; perform other duties as assigned.
